Volodymyr Hovorukha has become the new chairman of the High Council for Justice (HCJ), the council's press service has reported.
"The High Council of Justice has decided to consider member of the High Council of Justice Volodymyr Hovorukha to be elected as chairman of the High Council of Justice," the report reads. It notes that Hovorukha was nominated for chairman of the HCJ by council member Andriy Boiko. Following a secret vote, 17 HCJ members voted for Hovorukha, which is more than half of the constitutional composition of the council. According to Parts 1-3, Article 22 of the law of Ukraine on the High Council of Justice, the head of the HCJ is elected for a term of two years. The HCJ recalled that judge of Kyiv Court of Appeal Volodymyr Hovorukha was elected a member of the HCJ at the 15th regular congress of judges of Ukraine on March 6, 2018 and swore an oath of a member of the council. On April 16, the High Council of Justice terminated the powers of HCJ Chairman Ihor Benedysiuk. Отправить в:      другие новости
