Sir Michael Caine famously introduced his friend Mia Farrow to her long-time partner Woody Allen in 1979.

However, despite her bitter split from the film-maker in 1992 when he fell in love with her adopted daughter, it appears the actress has forgiven Michael for getting them together in the first place.

The veteran English actor joked about his friendship with Mia as he spoke at '60 Minutes With Michael Caine' in London's Chinatown on Tuesday.

He said: 'I introduced Mia Farrow to Woody Allen. But she forgave me.'

The Italian Job legend, 83, answered questions from fans during an event hosted by David Tang at the China Exchange.

He was joined by his wife of 43 years Shakira as he spoke an the intimate event as part of the Prudential Series of talks.

Given the tweets of people in attendance, it appears the evening was full of humour as the actor joked about his decades in entertainment.
