The London High Court has extended the freeze of assets of former PrivatBank owners Ihor Kolomoisky and Hennadiy Boholiubov for the amount of more than $2.5 billion, PrivatBank's press service has told Ukrinform.
The London High Court at a meeting on January 19 extended the order to freeze the worldwide assets of Kolomoisky and Boholiubov for over $2.5 billion until the court issues a new order. As reported, in December 2017, the High Court of England and Wales issued an order to freeze the assets of former PrivatBank owners Kolomoisky and Boholiubov. The order to freeze the assets was issued on the basis of detailed evidence put to the court that Kolomoisky and Boholiubov extracted almost $2 billion from the bank through a particular series of dishonest transactions, which had the effect of transferring the funds to companies that they secretly owned or controlled. Through these initial legal proceedings, with interest, PrivatBank is seeking to recover over $2.5 billion.
