Five countries sign memorandum to investigate MH17 crash
21 of Septeber 2017 г.
Five countries participating in the joint investigation team on MH17 crash have signed a memorandum to facilitate the establishment of a tribunal to punish the perpetrators of the crash which claimed lives of 298 people.

An Ukrinform correspondent reports this with reference to the official site of the Foreign Ministry of Australia.

"At a meeting of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in New York we have taken a further step toward achieving justice for those killed when Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 was brought down over Eastern Ukraine on 17 July 2014," Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop stated.

The Memorandum of Understanding on supporting the prosecution of MH17 crash perpetrators was signed by the heads of the foreign ministries of Australia, Belgium, Malaysia, the Netherlands and Ukraine at the UN General Assembly meeting in New York.

As Minister Bishop stated, the memorandum confirms Australia's full cooperation with and support for the Dutch national prosecution process announced on 5 July 2017.

"The Australian Government has full confidence in the quality, impartiality and integrity of the Dutch legal system and commends the Dutch Government's leadership in seeking justice for MH17. We urge all states to cooperate fully with efforts to achieve accountability for the 298 passengers and crew who died, including the 38 people who called Australia home," the Australian Foreign Minister stressed.
