"Oleh Liashko's Radical Party at its meeting on February 20 decided to expel MP Andriy Artemenko from the faction," the speaker said at a plenary session on Tuesday.

The New York Times wrote on February 19 that Ukrainian parliamentarian Andriy Artemenko had handed a peace plan over to Donald Trump's Administration.

"Mr. Artemenko said he saw in Mr. Trump an opportunity to advocate a plan for peace in Ukraine — and help advance his own political career. Essentially, his plan would require the withdrawal of all Russian forces from eastern Ukraine. Ukrainian voters would decide in a referendum whether Crimea, the Ukrainian territory seized by Russia in 2014, would be leased to Russia for a term of 50 or 100 years," The New York Times wrote.

Michael Cohen, the U.S. president's personal lawyer, delivered the peace plan to Michael Flynn a week before the latter resigned as U.S. national security adviser. According to the publication, Cohen has a personal connection to Ukraine: He is married to a Ukrainian woman and once worked with relatives there to establish an ethanol business.

Artemenko claimed his plan had been supported by advisers to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

On February 20, Oleh Liashko, leader of the parliamentary faction of the Radical Party, demanded that Andriy Artemenko, a member of this faction, step down.
