The State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) has obliged regional road agencies to buy all material and technical resources via the ProZorro electronic procurement system - Interfax.
The press service of Ukravtodor reported that thanks to the use of open online platforms procurement will be carried out only from suppliers and this would save large funds for road works. "There is a well-known money laundering scheme – purchase of goods from intermediaries. With obliging state-run contractors to buy all required materials and machinery via the ProZorro system we would get rid of corruption, I am sure," acting head of Ukravtodor Yevhen Barakh said. Before June 30 public joint-stock company Automobile Roads of Ukraine, the managing body of regional road agencies, will provide for the introduction of the open electronic procurement system for state-run contractors. Ukravtodor hopes that all road materials and machinery procurement will be carried out via the ProZorro system starting in July.
