"In January-June 2020, Ukraine exported oilseeds to the tune of $326 million, down 47.4% compared to the same period last year ($619 million)," the Institute of Agrarian Economics (IAE) informs.

Soybeans remain the major export item of this group. In the first half of 2020, more than 0.8 million tonnes of soybeans were exported to the tune of $289 million. In addition, 18,000 tonnes of rapeseed totalling $7 million and 33,000 tonnes of sunflower seeds totalling $14 million were exported during this period.

January-June 2020, the largest importers of Ukrainian oilseeds were Turkey (19.6% of total cost of Ukrainian oilseeds supplies), Belarus (16.4%), Greece (9.0%), Italy (8.5%), Germany (6.6%), Lebanon (6.1%), the Netherlands (5.6%) and China (4.5%).

In the first half of 2020, exports of fats and oils from Ukraine amounted to about $2.9 billion, up 24% compared to the same period last year. The main export item of this group is sunflower oil. The major importers of Ukrainian fats and oils were India (23.6%), China (15.8%), the Netherlands (8.8%), Iraq (7.6 %), Spain (7.3%), and Italy (5.3%).

As reported, exports of Ukrainian agricultural products in January-June 2020 increased by $0.1 billion compared to the same period last year, reaching $10.4 billion.
