 NewsRSSU.S. stands with people of Ukraine in calling for justice for Handziuk

The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine has expressed solidarity with the people of Ukraine in demanding justice for activist Kateryna Handziuk and her family.
The diplomatic mission wrote this on its Facebook page on the occasion of the anniversary of the attack on the civic activist. "Today we solemnly mark the anniversary of the attack on civic activist Kateryna Handziuk, who fought fearlessly against corruption and for a democratic Ukraine. We stand with the Ukrainian people in calling for justice for Handziuk and her family," the embassy said. On July 31, 2018, an acid attack was committed against activist Kateryna Handziuk near the entrance to her house in Kherson. She underwent several operations but died on November 4, 2018.
