The European Union has called on Russia to stop supplying high-tech jamming stations and electronic warfare systems to its armed formations in Donbas, according to a statement made public by the EU at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna on July 18.
The EU also condemned the increasing targeting of the unmanned aerial vehicles of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine and the obstruction of their work. "On July 12, small-arms fire was yet again directed at an SMM mini-UAV, this time near Metalist, in non-government controlled area 7 km north-west of Luhansk," the statement said. The EU stressed that those responsible for any willful damage, destruction or loss of SMM UAVs and other assets should "be held accountable, both politically and financially." The OSCE mission has repeatedly reported the registration of a variety of exclusive Russian electronic warfare equipment in Donbas, including R-330 Zhitel, RB-341V Leer-3, 1L269 Krasukha-2, RB-109A Bylina, and anti-UAV system Repellent-1.
