Russian-led forces launch 13 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas

Russian occupation forces violated ceasefire 13 times in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine over the past day.

“The enemy used weapons banned under the Minsk agreements, firing a total of 143 82mm and 120mm mortars and 122mm artillery shells. In addition, the Russian occupation forces used weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms to fire on Ukrainian troops,” the press center of the JFO Headquarters reports.

In the zone of action of tactical force “East”, the invaders launched attacks on Ukrainian strongholds using 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of different systems and heavy machine guns near Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol); 122mm artillery, 120mm mortars and automatic mounted grenade launchers – outside Vodiane (94km south of Donetsk); 82mm mortars and grenade launchers of different systems – in the area of Hnutove (20km north-east of Mariupol).

In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, the enemy fired 120mm mortars on the JFO units near Troitske (69km west of Luhansk) and Popasna (69km west of Luhansk); 82mm mortars – outside Shumy (41km north of Donetsk); 122mm artillery systems – in the area of Novozvanivka (70km west of Luhansk); 120mm and 82mm mortars, weapons on BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles and grenade launchers of different systems – near Zolote-4 (59km west of Luhansk); grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms – in the area of Vilne (70km south-west of Donetsk).

No casualties among Ukrainian troops were reported.

According to the intelligence, one invader was killed and three more were wounded on February 28. In addition, four units of the enemy’s armaments and military equipment, including a self-propelled artillery platform and an antitank missile system, were destroyed.

Today, the enemy has not opened fire yet.

Ukrainian servicemen reliably control the enemy on the contact line, adhering to the ceasefire agreements.
