Pope Francis sent the greetings to the Ukrainian people and the head of the Ukrainian state.

"On the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine, I convey my sincere congratulations to you, Your Excellency, and to the citizens of Ukraine. I hope that the desire to find a solution for the benefit of peace, for which the people are so striving, will bring positive results for the whole country, especially for inhabitants of regions affected by the conflict," the letter of congratulations reads.

The Pontiff wished the president and all the people of the country God's blessing.

King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander, King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf and King of the Belgians Philippe also congratulated the head of state and the people of Ukraine on the holiday.

"On the occasion of the national holiday of Ukraine, let me express to you, Your Excellency, my congratulations and best wishes for the prosperity of the Ukrainian people. Let me also express my appreciation and praise the consistent and persistent efforts of your government in achieving the truth and justice for the victims of the MH17 tragedy and their close relatives. We value excellent cooperation between our two countries and other members of the Joint Investigation Team, and we are looking forward to progressing in the same spirit," Willem-Alexander said in a congratulatory letter.

Poroshenko also received congratulations from Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis and Italian President Sergio Mattarella.

"On the occasion of the national holiday, I am pleased to express fervent wishes of concord and well-being to the friendly Ukrainian people on behalf of the Italians and on my own behalf. Peace, stability and prosperity in your country remain our sincere wish and a cause that we faithfully support as part of the efforts being made by the international community in this direction. The fulfillment of the Minsk Agreements is a goal that must be pursued in the interests of Ukraine and the whole of Europe in a spirit of cooperation and political will," the Italian president said.

Mattarella also emphasized that Italy reaffirms its full support for the principles of international law, as well as support for Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty, and works with its European partners to ensure their full and unconditional implementation.

"I am convinced that in the near future our strong and fruitful bilateral relations will have a further impetus as part of an even stronger strengthening of the link between Kyiv and the European Union. With these sincere wishes, I convey to you personally and to all the friendly Ukrainian people the most sincere wishes of well-being," he said.

Governor-General of Australia Peter Cosgrove, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegovic, and Captains Regent of San Marino Stefano Palmieri and Matteo Ciacci also sent congratulations on Ukraine's Independence Day.

"Let me express my conviction that friendly and constructive relations between Australia and Ukraine will continue to grow," the Governor-General of Australia said.

He expressed strong support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, which was consistently supported by the United Nations and other international forums.

"Australia is looking forward to Ukrainian athletes for the Invictus Games, which will take place in Sydney this October," Cosgrove said.

The heads of state wished the friendly people of Ukraine prosperity and well-being and also expressed their firm commitment to strengthening friendly relations and cooperation with Ukraine in favor of mutual development and prosperity.
