Tom Hanks says Mr. Rogers helped teach him how to listen better.

The two-time Academy Award winner, 63, appears on Tuesday's edition of Ellen, where he opens up about playing the lead role of the Fred Rogers in the upcoming movie A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.

'I'm trying to learn from him - you try to learn a little something from every gig - he taught me that listening is a million times more important than talking,' Hanks said of the beloved TV personality, who died February 27, 2003 at the age of 74.
